Here Comes Santa Claus - Part 2

OK - now that you are familiar with the chords, let's try putting the whole thing together. Notice that the chords in the last two lines of the verses move quickly - they will need some extra practice but the transition will come.

Here Comes Santa Claus - Chords

Hey there intrepid Ukers!

Here's a video of HCSC that we will preform at the Christmas Assembly. If this goes well, we'll add a few more, methinks. This version just has me playing and naming the chords as I play them.

Here are the first two chords for "Yellow Bird" - D and G. Most useful!

Remember to play on your finger tips and to play just to the left of the frets.
(Notice that my hand position doesn't change much, just the fingers.)

Lesson One - Smoke on the Water

Also known as "Slow Motion Walter, Fire Engine Guy"...

Be sure to play on the tips of your fingers (cut those nails!) - one way to make sure you can do this is to position your thumb directly underneath your second finger.

before we begin...: Tuning your Uke!

Uke Heroes #4 - Jake Shimabukuro

Jake ranks up there with James Hill as one of the best young players. The Ukulele is incredibly popular in Japan and Jake is a major star there. Here he plays a uke version of the George Harrison song "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"

Uke Heroes #3 - Bob Brozman

This guy is like a modern-day Roy Smeck (see post below). A monster on any plucked instrument. Here he is playing a National Steel Ukulele from the 1930s - with an entirely metal body.
